Design ideas for your 96-liter white glass aquarium

In an aquarium with a 60 cm edge length and 40 cm height, you have more room for design. Use a suitable substrate and create a natural underwater landscape using roots or stones. You have a wide selection of aquatic plants and can create a tiered arrangement. This way, small to medium-sized aquatic plants fit in the foreground, while significantly taller and longer ones fit in the background.

Coordinate the plants, lighting, and equipment. Which animals are suitable depends on the interior dimensions, actual water volume, setup, and species-specific requirements. In a 64-liter aquarium, you have a variety of options: different types of minnows, barbs, danios, dwarf cichlids, and various catfish can be kept here.

Choosing the right lid and mat

In the basic selection, this tank arrives without a lid and without a mat. However, we recommend ordering our safety mat as well, so that the glass bottom of your tank is largely protected and small unevenness does not cause the glass to break.

For the lid, you can choose from various options and select the important sliding glass lid that suits your ideas and equipment. If you have special requests, such as holes or similar, feel free to send us a message and we will see what we can implement for you.

Frequently asked questions about the 60 cm aquarium with 96 liters

How much water fits in the aquarium?

The stated nominal volume is approx. 96 liters. The actual water volume is lower and depends on the interior dimensions, fill height, substrate, and decoration.

What is the difference between white glass and float glass?

White glass is, as the name suggests, "white". Float glass has a green tint that becomes visible the thicker the glass is. This can slightly distort the color depth of aquatic plants and ornamental fish. Therefore, anyone who wants a clear view into the aquarium should opt for white glass.

Can I request cutouts or holes?

Additional cutouts, holes, and custom adjustments are available upon request. Clarify the desired version before placing your order.

Set-up examples for your new aquarium

You see a tank, but have no idea where to start? We’re here to help with a variety of ideas so you can get straight to setting it up when our aquarium arrives.

Small aquariums with a colorful variety of plants

Small aquariums with a colorful variety of plants

With the right selection of aquatic plants, you can also make small aquariums appear significantly larger. For small aquariums, we also recommend using finer plants. Rotala or Ludwigia species are suitable as stem plants for the background here. This prevents the tank from looking overcrowded. A larger-leaved eye-catcher is allowed to introduce a different leaf shape.

Nano aquarium with sand and rock formation

Nano aquarium with sand and rock formation

Small aquariums can be beautifully landscaped with a small rock formation and suitable small roots. They should be planted predominantly with fine-leaved plants such as compact Anubias, Cryptocorynes, or various mosses. Fine stem plants or needle leeks are also a good option.

Tall aquariums as living green pictures

Tall aquariums as living green pictures

Tall aquariums offer a major advantage in terms of overall design flexibility. Larger roots and broad-leaved aquatic plants such as Java fern can be used here. A classic Vallisneria spiralis comes into its own in the background, as does a Ludwigia. The foreground can be landscaped with Monte Carlo pearlwort, cryptocorynes, needle moss, dwarf sword plants or Staurogyne repens.

Shallow tanks for stream aquariums and catfish

Shallow tanks for stream aquariums and catfish

Shallow aquariums are ideal for recreating a great underwater stream. Fine sand and many round river stones of different sizes can be used to create a natural structure. At the same time, hardy, low-growing aquatic plants such as Cryptocoryne, dwarf sword plants, or Brazilian grass provide optimal planting for such shallow aquariums. When properly set up, these tanks are ideal for catfish and shrimp, which do not necessarily require height.
